In order to make it more useful, I am hereby listing list of some great apps and software for our Android cellphones.
NOTE: IF YOU SHARE MY ZEAL AND WANT TO POST IN THIS BLOG, U R MOST WELCOME. PLEASE CONTRIBUTE AND MAKE THIS MORE HELPFUL AND SIMPLE GUIDE FOR ALL ANDROID USERS.

1) HI SUITE : we all miss PC suite for our android mobiles. here is one CLICK HERE
This software is from Huawei. It has great features like managing contacts, messages, music, apps etc.
I am still exploring this software for my micromax A73 and learning many more things each day.


2) LINK2SD: A must for our device as the internal memory is very less.
But with this app on my device I have been able to install more than 200 apps (those that are not movable to SD). Without this I would not have enjoyed my mobile the way I do.

3) TITANIUM BACKUP: I have installed 04 different ROMs and yet was able to retain all my apps with their data. Just because of Titanium Backup.

4) LAUNCHER: Presently I prefer HOLO Launcher. It light, crash free and elegant. The GO launchers have not worked smoothly on my mobile.

5) Video Players: MOBO VIDEO PLAYER PRO & MOBO PLAYER.
Both are excellent apps with very similar name but different in look & feel.

6) ANTI-VIRUS: Dr. Web Anti-Virus. DOWNLOAD 4 HERE
 I found this Russian app very effective in identifying apps which push ads and steal my personal data. Other recommended android antivirus are Avast, Look Out. AVG etc.

6) CALLER ID: ShaPlus Caller Info.  Its simple, offline and light.
My personal opinion, Avoid using True Caller as it steals contacts of your loved ones and provide it the world.

7) SwipePad:  If you want new style of shortcuts give it one try. You may enjoy it.

8) SMS Backup + : I am still waiting for an app which backups my call logs and messages. Well This one at least backups my sms on my mail. Still call log backup is missing.

9) AdFree Android : Remove add from your rooted phone.

10) Regina 3D Launcher: Though Holo Launcher is light and good, but if you want to experience 3D launcher, try this. Note: This launcher will definitely slow the mobile. But worth trying out.

11) Solitaire: Simple android card game for windows solitaire's  lover.

12) UC Browser : Best Mobile Browser for android as well as for symbian. This Chinese app is fast and have great bookmarks. And definitely best in built download manager.

I have been asked to provide the guide to install these ROMs.

So here we GO :>
How To Install any new ROM:
1) You must have CWM Recovery to install the ROM.
2) Copy the micromax-Coustom ROM you want to install to root of your sdcard.
(yes its important that the zipped file should be placed on the roort of your SD card and not inside any folder(s).
3) Switch off the device & boot into Recovery mode by holding down Vol Up key & Power On.
4) Back up your current ROM. (This is must if u run into some problem to restore)
5) Now, Wipe data/Factory reset.
6) Install zip from sdcard
7) Choose zip from sdcard
8 ) Select copied ROM.
9) Confirm the action
10) ROM installed
11) Reboot system

HOW TO INSTALL DRIVER: I assume you have windows 7.
press START, type DEVICE MANAGER in search bar.
Thus open DEVICE MANAGER.
Now, simply select the device who’s driver you want to update, here A73.
Once you are done. It will open a windows
Search Automatically ...
OR Browse ...
You have two options here, if you want to install a driver, then select Browse my computer for driver software.
Click Browse and locate your driver, once it’s done simply click Next and Windows 7 will start installing the driver.

DONE.

ROOT YOUR PHONE BUT IN A BIT COMPLEX WAY,
 because recently the easier methods like unlockroot software have been reported to fail.
So here you go.

The plan is this, firstly we need to install or rather flash Clockworkmood.
(Many new persons to android may ask whats that???)

I will explain a bit.
If you power ON your mobile while simultaneously pressing the VOL DOWN button, your mobile will be opened in RECOVERY MODE. The inbuilt recovery mode is not of much use for us frankly.

So now we need to replace this recovery mode by CWM Recovery (i.e. clockworkmood recovery).
{please also note that if we have install this we can also then flash custom ROMs, thus its must for us I would say}

So how to do that?????????
HERE COMES THE GUIDE BUT IT WILL NEED YOU TO DOWNLOAD FEW THINGS

but believe me you will enjoy doing it.

so step by step
1) download CWM recovery image from HERE.
(Kindly give credits to: Beerzar from Thailand and Shahabazas from India.

2) download Android SDK from HERE .
(This link will take you to download SDK from the original website. this Size is too big whooping approx 400 MB).

3) Also download a another file cyanogen-files.carneeki.net/flash_image.zip

4) Now where to keep which file
copy the CWM recovery image to your SD card (note: Keep it on root of SD and not inside any folder).
Extract the Android SDK file as per your convenience. best is to place and extract in D or E drive.
We assume you have placed it in D drive. Thus the folder will be like this d:\adt-bundle-windows-x86

Extract the file downloaded in step 3 inside the SDK folder ie. d:\adt-bundle-windows-x86\sdk\platform-tools\

5) Connect you phone to PC in USB debugging mode. ( I assume you have installed the driver)

6) Start command mode in your PC ( to stat DOS mode press start type cmd press enter)

7) Type the following in the  cmd

cd/
d:
cd d:\adt-bundle-windows-x86\sdk\platform-tools

(The aim is to navigate to the folder where we had extracted the file downloaded in step 3)
 
adb push flash_image /sdcard/
adb shell
su
mount -o remount,exec /dev/block//vold/179:1 /sdcard
cd /sdcard
./flash_image recovery /sdcard/recovery.img



Congrats you have successfully flashed your clockworkmod recovery to Micromax A73

(please reboot your phone and check whether superuser app has been installed or not, in case it has not not been done move to below steps)

NOW WE RETURN BACK TO OUR ORIGINAL AMBITION i.e. TO ROOT OUR A73.
 
Before that you need to understand the advantage of CWM Recovery.

When you will open this recovery mode (POWER ON your mobile while simultaneously pressing the VOL DOWN button)

The Menu will be as such.
- reboot system
- install zip from sdcard
- wipe data/factory reset
- backup and restore
- mounts & storage
- advanced

remember to take a backup of your original ROM
to do it go to backup and restore > backup
(to navigate up & down use left and middle key, and to select press power button on top)

It will be saved on your SD card, remember to take a backup from there to your PC (my suggestion).

Now here is the method to install super user.

STEP 1) go to android market and install super user.

if step 1 fails,
STEP 2) FLASH SUPER USER APP IN ZIP FORMAT
To do so, download the zip file from HERE. place it on SD card.
Boot into Recovery mode and flash by selecting install zip from sdcard > choose zip from sdcard.

select the file downloaded from the above step.
it will warn you,
Confirm install?
THIS CAN NOT BE UNDON.

SELECT YES.

That's it you are done.
